I still don't understand why the Nats traded for him to put him in a spot he doesn't want to play. What idiots.

I believe it was the Fool who speculated last week that Frank Robinson probably wants to wring Soriano's neck to the tune of "bitch, if you don't take your ass out to left field, it's gonna be some bloodshed up in this dugout."

So far, he's not so far off:

Manager Frank Robinson said yesterday that Alfonso Soriano will not play in either of the two exhibition games before the start of the World Baseball Classic.

"He's not playing because I didn't put him in the lineup," Robinson said. This situation is on a path to ugliness. Mar. 1 - 9:47 am et

The best second baseman in fantasy baseball is all gimped up with the same hamstring injury that caused him to miss the final two weeks of last season.

From The Washington Post:
Quote:
Greg Maddux's spring debut went a lot better than Alfonso Soriano's first appearance at second base. . .

Soriano, who missed the final two weeks of 2004 with a torn left hamstring, was limping in the locker room after playing six innings and going 0 for 3 with two strikeouts.

"It felt tight after Saturday's game, and it still doesn't feel right," Soriano said before doing some extra running after the game. "My timing is off."
